  • Bent push rod

    Scout II broke down on top of the mountain. Dragged it home and opened her up. Found a bent push rod. What would cause that. Has it happened to any ones 345?

    Did you check the hydraulic lifter for that push rod to see if it was seized or collapsed? Check the rockers above to see if they're stiff? Check the corresponding valves to see if they're seized? If the rockers are stiff, chances are the entire rod of rocker arms aren't getting lubricated correctly as they're all fed from one oil port in the head. You'll be about to tell which one when you pull the assembly, but I'm sure you've already figured that out since you've figured out that you have a bent push rod.
