    i am contemplating buying a scout but i havent found any places that i think are reliable to purchase parts from anyone out there a major distributor of scout parts? that has a real website and a dot com address? also if i do purchase the scout my intentions are to make it a serious off road machine but i havent found any info about lifting a scout ive seen lifts for sale from i think trailmaster and rancho but thats about it and nothing over 4" i want to be able to put 35" super swampers on it and dont think a 4" will cut it but i maybe be wrong thats why i am asking sorry for such a long post but i am new to the IH seen. after the lift what problems if any will there be with the drive train i have a friend with a j**p that after i think 6" lift he needed high angle drive shafts but im sure its different on a IH

    Welcome to the wonderful world of Internationals!

    There are plenty of excellent choices for Scout parts on-line like;

    Super Scout Specialists

    Scout Parts.com

    Back Country Binders

    Most parts you can just get or order at NAPA etc...

    and a bunch more on our links page at:
    http://www.justinternationals.org/links.htm

    Spring over axle lift with a body lift and you might clear 35's but I don't think those stock Dana 27 (?) axles would like that to long and the 152 four cylinder would be rather under powered. So its a big chore what your cutting out to do.
    I'll let some of the other guys with more knowledge on Scout 80's answer in depth some of your issue's.

    It can be done though check out Rick from NorthWestBinders.com

        The tub on the 80 is the same as a 800 the 80 windshield folds down the 800 is fixed . the bed
        and floor is the same. if you want lift go SOA you could stick Scout II axles under it more width .
        But the 152 will need low gears maybe 5.88 to turn the 35. good luck
