I have recently purchased a 77 Scout II. It has a 345 and 35k miles and some rust in what seems to be the usual places (rear quarter, floor pans and rocker panels). I am going to begin some restoration work on the truck. I have quite a bit of automotive knowledge but have never worked on a Scout before. I was wondering what books are worth spending my money on to read about the Scout, something similar to a Haynes or Chilton manual. The only books that I have found is the factory manual and I was wondering if it is worth the money ($150).

I have the factory manual, it came with the Scout Traveler when I purchased it. It has a wealth of information and makes life very easy.
Did you try Super Scout Specialists?

Don't waste your money on a junk manual. The factory manuals are the only decent books out there and are available new from Binder Books. The 76-77 manual is CTS-2310 and costs $72.95, and it's worth every penny of that.
