  • Disty question

I am wanting to go to FI a little later. Right now my vacuum advance on my Holley GB disty is shot. I am thinking this would be a good time to do the Ford Duraspark conversion. I have read thru the process and have a question. As I am not FI yet, I leave the mechanical and vacuum advance features intact and I am set?

    TIA.

    Rastus,

You are correct. That's the stage I'm at right now, running the Duraspark conversion but with the vacuum and mechanical advances still hooked up.

Unless you're going to use another IH disty for your conversion, you'll still need to fix the vacuum advance on yours.

For mine, I just picked up another IH disty along with the Ford disty for the conversion. That left my Scout running on the original disty until I was ready to put the new one in.

    Good luck!!!

Thanks for the reply! Now that I have reread the conversion instructions I see what I missed. I do need that vacuum advance module. Guess it is time to go see if I can get the number off the disty without pulling it.

      Thanks again!
